The Staff at Manchester at Midnight will be further clarifying many of the rules that we use in the game. This post is in regards to tags that are to be worn by the players and staff.

In this larp, there are many things that will have to be clarified by tags worn by the characters they effect. In Mind's eye theater we as players and staff need to use our imagination to see some situations differently. The following is a list of the status and equipment cards that need to be openly displayed by the players that they effect.

Status cards

Eerie presence: For Kindred with a humanity of 5.9 or less you need to openly display a card that reads Eerie presence. An Eerie presence tag denotes to people who see it that the person wearing the tag has a presence that puts mortals on guard. Wearing one of these tags helps staff members interact with your characters more appropriately. Not wearing one of these tags can be considered a role playing violation and may provoke a response from the staff.

Monstrous presence: For kindred with a humanity of 3.9 or less you need to openly display a card that reads Monstrous presence. A Monstrous presence tag denotes to people who see it that the person wearing the tag has a presence that mortals and kindred alike can not mistake for a human. Kindred with this tag are considered a breach of the Masquerade. With bulky clothing and masks this can be covered up but doing so most likely only down grades it to an Eerie presence as you are now wearing clothing and masks that put people on edge.

Striking looks: For characters who have the striking looks merit it is important for you to denote that with a tag that clarifies such things. Wearing such a tag will help players and staff react appropriately to your character and help make things more clear to those around you. Although you may or may not have striking looks in real life, dawning one of these cards now make it so. A character with striking looks can cover up this status by wearing bulky clothing and a mask. If steps are taken to conceal these features you may remove the tag temporarily , but doing so may grant you an eerie presence tag.

Giant: For characters that have the Giant merit, such things should be denoted with a status card. Characters with these status cards should wear them openly and can not hide their size in most cases. If you are giant and are not wearing one of these status cards it can be considered a role playing violation and provoke a response from the staff.

Fame: For characters with the fame merit, a tag that denotes 'Famous' should be worn. Being famous means that most people in certain circles will recognize you by sight. This status can be covered up with bulky clothing and masks. If steps are taken to conceal this feature you may remove the tag temporarily but doing so may grant you an eerie presence.

Other: In some cases there will be situations were tags are worn to denote status that can be seen without any narration. examples of other statuses would be a strange birth mark on the character or that the character is naked.

Equipment cards

Armor tags: Some armor tags denote on the tag that they are too bulky to be concealed and must be openly wore as they can be seen by those around.

Large weapons: Some weapons such as rifles and long swords that are too large to be concealed need to be openly wore as they can be seen by those around.

Driving in a vehicle: If you are traveling in a car or other vehicle you should denote this by holding the tag out so that other players and staff can see that you are in a vehicle. If you are asked about your tag, you should give a brief description of your vehicle.

Badges: badges such as a police officer's badge or a government I-D badge should also be worn on a tag unless you take it off. Not having it displayed will be considered by those around to be concealed.

Any questions about these rules should either be asked in the FAQ thread or in a PM to your character manager.
